The digital resource BookFlix by Scholastic is now available to all TCPL patrons with a TCPL Card! Please access BookFlix here or through our website at https://www.tcplibrary.org/. Sign in with your 8-digit TCPL Card (TCPLXXXXXXXX).

BookFlix offers, "Thematically paired fiction and nonfiction titles designed to bridge learning-to-read and reading-to-learn. Animated classic storybooks introduce early learners to the delights of reading while sparking curiosity, creating a natural springboard into the paired nonfiction text for deeper discovery."

For example, we searched "moon" and paired the fiction book Happy Birthday, Moon by Franklin Asch and the nonfiction book The Moon by Scholastic. Kids can watch an animated version of Happy Birthday, Moon, and have BookFlix read The Moon by Scholastic while they follow along. Each book pair includes the following on-theme activities: Word Match, Fact or Fiction?, and Which Came First?. Kids also have the choice to search the topic with provided safe internet links and book author information. This resource is for kids PreK-3 grade.
