Event Details

The Art Lab is a hands-on visual arts series for adults led by local artists. Each week, participants will discover a new medium, such as painting and sculpting. Don't miss this art series for novice and experienced artists alike.

No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and willingness to create! The Art Lab will meet during Summer Reading, June 2 - July 14, on Mondays from 1:30 - 3:00 PM.

June 2: Floral Acrylics with Melane
June 9: Mark-Making on Raw Canvas Catrina Higgs - Join Us for “FREE TO BE” – A Community Art Workshop with local Artist Catrina Higgs! Experience the joy of creative freedom in this hands-on painting workshop led by Kentucky artist and mother, Catrina Higgs. Together, we’ll explore expressive mark-making on raw canvas—no rules, no judgment, just pure creative exploration. All materials provided.
June 16: Explore the art of nature photography with Edd Sterchi, award winning photographer, as he shares tips for capturing landscapes and wildlife. This session includes helpful techniques for both digital cameras and cell phones.
