As of Friday, March 13 at 12:00 AM (not current information)
Due to the recent closure of local schools districts, Taylor County Public Library will be suspending all library programming effective Monday, March 16-Sunday, March 29. During this time, there will be no regularly scheduled weekly, monthly, or special featured programs. We will also be reducing library hours to Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. We will not be open on Saturday, March 21 or Saturday, March 28.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but remain committed to the health and safety of our community. As always, these measures can change at any time, and could be extended if local officials determine that further reduction in hours will be beneficial to cut down on the spread of illness. As of now, there is no disruption in library services, such as the ability to check out books, use public computers, etc., although stringent sanitization measures will be used.
Please remember that we are always available to renew books over the phone at (270) 465-2562. We also have a drop box in the front of our building if you would rather use that to return materials.
As of Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 PM (not current information)
At this time, the library will continue with regular operating hours. We will increase our sanitization efforts, including disinfecting all returned materials, removing all toys from the Children's Room, and we will also cease serving refreshments during programs.
Effective immediately, we will be suspending our Bookmobile and Outreach services. Additionally, all Community Room reservations made by groups or individuals will be cancelled. If this affects you, please be on the lookout for correspondence from the library. These measures will be in place through the end of March.
As the situation develops we will be updating the community through our website and social media accounts. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all get through this together.
