Summer Reading Program is upon us!

Here are some answers to questions you may have. Feel free to give us a call at 270-465-2562 with any further questions.

What is the Summer Reading Program?

Summer Reading Program (SRP) is an initiative libraries across the country offer to encourage kids (and adults) to read throughout summer to encourage learning and prevent summer slide (loss of the skills they learned in the last grade they completed). Libraries encourage kids to read and track pages/books/minutes/etc. to earn points towards door prize entries. Many libraries also offer thematic programming based on that year’s program theme.

What is this year’s theme?

The SRP 2021 is Tails and Tales, with a focus on animals. TCPL will offer a variety of programs centered around animals, but will also offer other programs.

How can patrons register?

Patrons can register at or through the READsquared app and follow the prompts. Adults should register first, then add kids to their account.
