Hi, I am Cindy the Adult Programmer at TCPL and this is my Crème de la Crème-- things I'm reading, watching, doing, or looking forward to for the month of April. Here we go!

Mrs. Wilson (Masterpiece Theater)

This is a new BBC three-part series that you can watch on PBS. Based on a true story, there are still questions unanswered at the end, and the lead actress, Ruth Wilson, plays her real-life grandmother. Awesome show! Click here to view online.

Stress Management on Universal Class

I am starting a class on Stress Management through Universal Class, available for free through the library website. You can do it in your own time and there are no grades (especially helpful for stress management!) I’ll let you know how it goes. To start exploring Universal Class on your own, click here. You'll just need your library card number, and be sure to enter the letters tcpl before you type in your number.

The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon

I'm currently listening to the audiobook The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon through Libby, which is the app we use here at the library for all of our digital loans. This is a ghost story which is not my usual genre but I'm giving it a try. Through Kentucky Libraries Unbound, we offer ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and even movies! If you'd like to see what kind of great reads we have online, click here and have your library card number handy!

R.E.A.D. Book Talk w/ Joyce Haskins

I am really looking forward to meeting this local author and seeing her new book. I love it when authors come to the library to talk about their work; we have so many talented people in Taylor County. Joyce Haskins is a highly educated public servant who has made an impact in the field of education as a teacher, a principal, and a state department of education administrator in Minnesota and Kentucky. She will be sharing with us about her book My Best Friends Over Eighty.

This will be Thursday, April18 from 4pm to 6pm. Hope I see you there!

Noon Organ Recital

Finally, on a musical note: Tuesday, April 9 at 12:20 PM is the last Noon Organ Recital at Ransdell Chapel for this year. If you have never gone, this is a great way to spend your lunch hour. From 12:20pm to 12:50pm you can hear some of the best organ music ever written FOR FREE!  I hear they are having other instruments as well so don’t miss it. This is located on the campus of Campbellsville University.

That's it for this installment of Cindy's Crème de la Crème! If you have recommendations, email me at or message the library’s Facebook page.
