Program Description
Event Details
Taylor County Public Library is partnering with Neighborhood Forest to provide free Neighborhood Forest trees for kids to plant during Earth Week.
Parents/guardians, sign your child up for a free tree by Sunday, March 15, 2026 here: https://www.neighborhoodforest.org/registration-services/?school=185450. To register multiple children, use the "Add a Child" button in the registration form.
Tree species will be announced in late March/early April. Neighborhood Forest aims to provide native or fruit bearing trees in the regions they serve. Trees are set to arrive in time for Earth Day 2026 (Wednesday, April 22, 2026). TCPL will be in touch with you when it is time to pick up your tree at the front desk!
Adults, we've thought of you, too! If you are an adult without children in the household who would like to plant a tree for Earth Day, register on our website (below) to receive a free Tulip tree sapling, a species native to Kentucky and our state tree.
Taylor County Extension Agency will provide instructional packets on how to properly plant and care for your sapling as it grows.
Share your love of trees by purchasing trees or donating to fund trees in our community.
