At Taylor County Public Library we strive to meet the needs of children and their families in our community by offering programs and activities that enhance their educational, recreational, and informational needs in a welcoming and accepting atmosphere.

Weekly Children's Programs

Rhyme Time for Babies-Age 2
Tuesdays @ 10 AM

Read books, sing songs, play with toys, and of course... blow bubbles! 

Preschool Story Hour (3 & 4 year olds)
Thursdays @ 10:30 AM

We read books together and participate in special activities planned to help children have fun and learn basic skills they need to know before Kindergarten. 

Snack Attack

Wednesday, March 1st @ 3:30 PM

Join Ms. Angie from the Cooperative Extension Office for Snack Attack! This month we'll be making green fruit dip and beaded jewelry. 

Family Nature Night

Thursday, March 2nd @ 5:30 PM

Join Ms. Amy from Clay Hill Memorial Forest for this fun, interactive, family nature program! This program takes place on the first Thursday of every month in the library's Community Room. This month Ms. Amy will be bringing a large bull frog for us to observe!

Reading Buddies

Wednesday, March 8th @ 3:30 PM 

Children can practice their reading skills by reading out loud with teen volunteers. Are your children too young to know how to read? Bring them anyway and let our teen volunteers read them a story!

Play Dough Play Day

Wednesday, March 15th @ 3:30 PM

Come play with play dough in the Children's Room! Ages 2-12 welcome.

Craft Corner

Tuesday, March 21st @ 4:00 PM

Make a variety of crafts with Ms. Veronica, our crafty volunteer. Ages 2-12 are welcome! Children under 5 must have a parent or guardian present.

Melty Bead Magnets

Wednesday, March 29th @ 3:30 PM

Kids are welcome to come make designs using perler beads, then library staff will melt them down and turn them into magnets!
